Employee Management Service is a full-stack application built during a Mavericks Consulting training program. It combines an employee directory with account registration, login, and department-scoped access to records.
What It Does
Users browse paginated employee listings and create, view, update, or delete records. The backend scopes listings by department, while the dashboard handles loading states, errors, and pagination after records are removed.
Tech Stack
The frontend uses Next.js, TypeScript, Material UI, and Redux Toolkit Query. An Express backend stores relational data in PostgreSQL through Sequelize. Redis backs server-side sessions, and bcrypt handles password hashing.
Beyond the Directory
The backend separates routes, controllers, services, and models, with request DTOs and validation middleware at the API boundary. Employee operations distinguish missing records from updates that make no changes, giving the interface specific outcomes to handle.
The project also includes Swagger API documentation and Docker configuration. Its scope covers the full path from browser forms and session handling to application logic and persistent storage, making it a useful record of foundational full-stack work.
